Foundation

Secure document organization

The foundation of your family, kept secure.

Foundation guides you through storing passports, birth certificates, and licenses, reminds you before anything expires, lets you choose exactly which family member sees what, and makes sure someone you trust can reach them in an emergency.

Guided fill-in forms

Each document type asks only for what it has, and you can edit the fields.

Smart scanner

Snaps when the card is steady, crops it straight, and reads the barcode on licenses.

Expiration reminders

A heads-up before anything runs out, not at the airport.

Renewal help

Steps, what to bring, and the official website for passports, licenses, and tags.

Emergency access

A trusted person can reach chosen documents after a waiting period you set.

Per-person permissions

Choose whose documents each family member can see.

Protected links

Send one page with a watermark, access code, and an expiration. Turn it off anytime.

Quick cards

Pin your license or insurance card to the top for one tap at the counter.

Works offline

Chosen documents and quick cards open with no signal.

Family sharing

One shared vault for the whole household, with a role for each member.

Pets, homes, and vehicles

Each gets its own documents: vet records, mortgage, registration, and more.

Photos and files

Full-resolution photos, plus PDF and Word files attached to any document.

Emergency access

If something happens to you, the right person can still get in

Pick someone you trust. They can ask for access in an emergency, and they get in only after a waiting period you choose, unless you say no. Try both sides below.

JYour phone · James, owner
RRuth's phone · trusted contact
  1. Choose someonePick a waiting period and which family members' documents they'd see.
  2. They acceptRuth enters a one-time code in her own Foundation app.
  3. They ask, you hearYou get an alert and an email right away.
  4. You decideSay no, let them in now, or do nothing and the wait runs out.

A wait you control

From 1 to 30 days. Long enough that you'd notice, short enough to help when it counts.

View only, only what you chose

They can't add, change, or delete anything, and every document they open shows in your Activity log.

Still end-to-end encrypted

Their key is sealed ahead of time and released only when the wait ends or you approve. Foundation still can't read your documents.

Guided forms

Add a document in under a minute

Pick a type and Foundation asks only for what that document has. Enter an expiration date and the reminder sets itself. Forms are ready for passports, birth certificates, licenses, Social Security and insurance cards, vehicle titles, and more.

This is a sample. Nothing you type here is saved or sent.

Expiration reminders

Fast-forward three years of family paperwork

Drag the slider to move through time. Each document gets its own reminder window: six months for passports, since many countries won't let you in with less.

Protections

Locked before it ever leaves your phone

With end-to-end encryption, a document is scrambled on your device and only unscrambled on the devices of family members you've shared it with. Not even Foundation can read it.

1 · Your phone

You add a document

Passport no.
567817390

Encrypted right here, before upload.

2 · Cloud backup

Stored scrambled

a9F$kQ2#vL0x!pR7…

Unreadable to anyone without your family's keys, including us.

3 · Maya's phone

Unlocked for family

Passport no.
567817390

Readable only on devices you've shared with.

End-to-end encryption

Only you and the family members you choose can open your documents.

Face ID and Touch ID

Unlock with your face or fingerprint. The app locks again when you step away.

Screenshot protection

Screenshots come out blank, and the app switcher shows a cover, not your documents.

Recovery Kit

A printable code that gets you back in if you forget your vault passphrase.

Two-step login

Add an authenticator app code at sign-in for an extra lock on your account.

Activity log

See who viewed, added, sent, or exported a document, and when.

Every protection is a switch

Turn each one on or off to fit your family. Nothing is forced.

No ads. No data selling.

Foundation never shows ads and never sells or shares your information.
